The mining sector, which achieved an export of $ 5 billion 398 million 731 thousand in the January-November period, focused on branding and structural reforms. Rüstem Çetinkaya, the President of Mining Sector of the Turkish Exporters Assembly (TIM) Sectors’s Council stated that they want to end 2021 with nearly $ 6 billion exports revenue. Çetinkaya stated that digital marketing has gained importance in international trade and that the marketing supports given to exporting sectors should be updated.
WE MUST STAY UP-TO-DATE ON DIGITAL PROMOTION CHANNELS
Rüstem Çetinkaya said the following on the subject: "Printed paperwork use is getting less and less in the world. It is the age of digital marketing. Today, the number of his /her Instagram followers measures the value of an athlete. Therefore, everything today happens in the digital world. However, I think we are not keeping our sectors up-to-date in digital promotion channels as a country. Supports in this field should be updated. Significant budgets must be allocated for your content to reach target audiences."
"WE CAN TAKE ITALY AS A MODEL IN BRANDING"
Emphasizing the importance of collective action in branding, Rüstem Çetinkaya, the President of Mining Sector of the Turkish Exporters Assembly (TIM) Sectors’s Council said, "Branding should be established as a country branding culture and a public awareness. Unless we act with this awareness, our promotion activities will be insufficient. Of course, our goal should be to produce high-technology products, but in my opinion in terms of branding. Italy is the country closest to us in terms of production style and technology. Wherever you go in the world, Italians have very serious studies on design. You can see these examples in every sector, such as Italian cuisine, Italian textiles, and Italian chocolate. While the Germans are producing value-added technological products, Italians are manufacturing value-added brands. Turkey can do this, but we need to work collectively for this. This is a social awareness and a cultural movement. People who will contribute the branding process of our products should be supported."
